John Lennon was once quoted as saying " If its crap on the box it'll be crap when you plug in!" I write ALL my stuff, songs, licks, whathaveyou on the acoustic first, and I ALWAYS will....

I was once told by a wise man, " You can play great things on an electric. But it will never be as good and pure sounding than on an acoustic." He also said, " Play and learn the blues. Because no matter what genre you go into, in some variance, it's still the blues." That stuck with me forever and still rings true today. By the way if anyones in for some brand spanking new, but still versed classically, acoustic performances; there's a new section on the community page called Community Clean ALBUM. It's filled with good music. Peace~^~Adam

Acoustics were the first guitar, in my opinion the best guitar. You don't need an amp. They are not as heavy. You can play some cool songs too like:

Nothing Else Matters -Metallica
Cemetary Gates -Pantera
Wish You Were Here -Pink Floyd
Pretty much Anything

How do you go about restringing a twelve string guitar? Or any acoustic really (I've never restrung mine). All I can think about is getting some strings finished and then not being able to fit my hand in? I'm sure there's a simple answer to this, but still.
Help? What do you need help with exactly? removing the strings from the bridge?

All the strings are off. What I need to know is, how am I supposed to get all the strings in properly since my hand won't fit in the hole after a certain point.

My first guitar was an acoustic and I don't know where I'd be - musically speaking - if it weren't for my crappy fender acoustic. It's the bomb, I love it to death. Great group, joined straight away! :)

Acoustic guitar is the best thing ever made by humanity!

Don't get me wrong, I love shredding on electrics, but every once in a while I love to hear some peaceful acoustic pieces...for example, "Desolate Ways" by Morbid Angel, or perhaps "Into The Dead Sky" by At The Gates. Andy McKee is also pretty good.

Blind Melon - Change

no really, I play acoustic about 30-40% of the time. The only reason I don't play it more often is that distortion kicks ass, and I like to move around when I play and an acoustic just doesn't feel right when not sitting... for me anyways

there are plenty of songs that sound great on acoustic & electric. Take Lil Devil from The Cult for example.

I learned on a borrowed acoustic guitar and got my first electric months later. It took me 10 years to acquire another acoustic and now I play it 80% of the time in the past 5 years!

i started playing guitar because of the blues. i then found the magic in metal and got an electric guitar. But y'know, there are just some things an acoustic can do that an electric just doesn't have the tone for. i'll always be a metalhead, but i love the acoustic just as much :)
