no really, I play acoustic about 30-40% of the time. The only reason I don't play it more often is that distortion kicks ass, and I like to move around when I play and an acoustic just doesn't feel right when not sitting... for me anyways
there are plenty of songs that sound great on acoustic & electric. Take Lil Devil from The Cult for example. quote |
fintroller wrote on Oct 16th, 2009 12:23amI learned on a borrowed acoustic guitar and got my first electric months later. It took me 10 years to acquire another acoustic and now I play it 80% of the time in the past 5 years! quote |
teejay13 wrote on Oct 6th, 2009 1:32ami started playing guitar because of the blues. i then found the magic in metal and got an electric guitar. But y'know, there are just some things an acoustic can do that an electric just doesn't have the tone for. i'll always be a metalhead, but i love the acoustic just as much quote |

Rokeman wrote on Sep 26th, 2009 12:24pmI got into guitar because of metal, but my dad convinced me to start on acoustic. At the time, for some reason I also had the impression that I should start on acoustic, maybe because it's what I used for a few lessons in primary school that went nowhere, and I knew nothing about electrics. So I got a Fender acoustic, and these days my music tastes are much more expanded, but still love metal/hard rock, but there's nothing like strumming an acoustic. quote |

sn4x wrote on Aug 31st, 2009 4:35pmI used to be one of those "brutal" kids, but I decided to take a guitar class to learn how to play properly. I realized how great acoustic guitars are! Playing on acoustic is more fun than playing on my electric most of the time now. quote |
