The School Run

thanksgiving

About 5 years ago I was in Grade 6. The last year of Primary School. As usual, the annual school racing carnival was coming up. All people of the age of 12 and over were in this run. I didn't know how long it was. I think it was roughly 1.5 kilometres... so about 1 mile?

First to go were the boys! Quickly I fell behind. My athsmaticness pulling me back. But I was not alone! There was the fat kid. There is always the fat kid. Falling behind just like me. We kept running and sometimes walking. Dangers coming from every side! Mainly girls that we're overtaking us... they started 10 minutes after us

Eventually we got to the last 100 metres. Beaten by all the boys and girls. Just us two. I turned to my fat competitor and said "Let's cross this line together my friend."

Then I started to run! I was going to show the people that I was not the worst runner out there!

Just as I started to take off, he pulled me back and sprinted too fast for me. I lost.

But now I am much fitter! Athsma isn't as much a problem! I didn't even know I had it then :(

From being beaten by a fat kid, to being the fastest runner on my basketball team...

Revival

I ran elementary cross country for a while, I was fun, just take two puffs of your lifesaver before hand. Having a bad asthma attack during a meet really sucked though.. Espesially if it was cold out. Just excersize.. err .. however you spell that damn word lol. I ran elementary cross country for a while, I was fun, just take two puffs of your lifesaver before hand.
