Hi everyone. Pulled the trigger on a new Ultra V last month. Should be here by the end of the week with any luck.

My friend got a V3 the other month. Had to return the first one because the tubes burned through the PCB. BOth of them sound extra thin, rather weak, and overall, not very good.

I think the V3 is the best amp on the planet, not only for its tone and versatility but for the price tag. I tried to have sex with mine and failed. Now I just resort to playing all day.

Hey all. I'm considering investing in a DC-127 with a Floyd. Good choice?

Hi I'm a potential member as I'm planning to buy a Carvin SX100. Just one question; does it handle pedals well, and if not is the onboard distortion any good for grunge?

The onboard distortion is great for grunge with the right guitar. It has loads of OD and a huge EQ range.

I'll see if I can get some soundclips soon, don't hold your breath however.

I must say though, this thing rips pretty hard.

I've got some pics of my Carvin on my profile if anyone cares. Not very good pics though, only camera I have is the one on my mac.

Id have to agree, i mean at a glance the thing is stunning, and the only thing i could come up with making it sound go shitty is the face that the pickups are crap-tastic. Other than that, its a beautiful guitar.

quote

MESAexplorer wrote on Feb 10th, 2008 3:28am

Not to make excuses or anything but, it's probably Carvin's pickups. They aren't particulary bright, punchy, or articulate.

Mahogany isn't particularly punchy either....If i got one it would probably be alder or walnut again.
