Who was the best bassist of this era? John Paul Jones (especially on the first 2 Zeppelin albums), Geezer Butler, Roger Glover (solo in Pictures of Home), Gene Simmons (great basslines), and I know Iron Maiden was more eighties, but they were still around in the seventies and Steve Harris is one of the best around. |

Jack Bruce is awesome, Getty Lee(spelling?) from Rush. The original bassist for Skynyrd was SSOOOOO underrated, he has great bass lines. |

Not exactly 60s-70s, but Oteil Burbridge (Allman Brothers) and Todd Smallie (Derek Trucks Band) are great bassists too. I love their style of playing. |
