So, anybody here working on anything? Currently, I have been
commissioned 3 pieces from different people: a concerto for timpani and
orchestra, a suite for next year's Fine Arts Center woodwind quintet,
and a violin sonata (which I am writing with piano accompaniment.)
As for just pieces I'm writing, I'm working on 2 and 4-mallet marimba
solos, a percussion ensemble piece, a couple of symphony pieces, and
various other mediums. My friend and I are also collaborating on a
piece for flute, clarinet, violin, electric bass, and percussion. |

I just started a string quartet with 2 violins cello and bass, and I've been working on a jazz piece for over a year that has like 5 bars to it. Concerto for double bass. And trying to write songs for my rock band. Could use some help on any of them actually. |

I uploaded my new song (String Quartet #1) on my profile check it out! It's not really anything amazing, but I like it. It has like one bar of polyphony in it that makes it sound really cramped but otherwise it's pretty good. |

I'm currently composing a trumpet quartet that starts out like a fanfare. I haven't gotten far enough to know what comes next, though. I'm not professional, but I'd like to be a composer in the future.
I'm also arranging a guitar and bass quartet for 2 trumpets, a guitar and bass guitar. Not really much, but it's an easy song to get me started into arranging. |

A trumpet quartet starting off with a fanfare will be so freaking kick*ss! Good luck with that. What key did you put it in? I'm a chicken and usually stick to Concert Bb or Eb |

It's in A Major, concert G major. I thought of it when I was playing guitar. It sucks because I have to write it by hand... unless somebody can suggest some free notation software. |

It's what I used to write the harpsichord and string quartet. Then I played it back and recorded it. Not the greatest quality, but we have a lack of violin, cello, and harpsichord players in my town. |

Finale is too cumbersome in my opinion...
Just an update...people seem to be coming to me for their repertoire needs. I'm currently working on a woodwind quintet, solo pieces for violin and cello, a percussion ensemble, an SATB choral piece, and a violin/cello duet. |

Full plate! Must be very nice. The only work I have is that video game music, and I don't even get real musicians to record it for me... Unless I pick up violin, harpsichord, viola, cello, and flute.
I'm thinking of making a Sax trio for Solo and Ensemble next year and seeing if our 3 seniors would want to play it, but I wouldn't know where to start on that. Anywho, can't wait to hear it man! |

I'm working on a seven-minute symphony of sorts. It's a little loose and unconventional in makeup of my orchestra (2 violins, cello, contra bass, piano, clarinet, trumpet, oboe, and percussionist), and three movements long. I'm mostly done the first (allegro) movement, finished the third movement, and I have yet to do much on the second (adagio). |

Working on a music assessment under the topic "Film Music" so im doing some kind of soft slowish piece with flute, piano (naturally) harp and strings. Im also trying to get a composition into a CD for WYD '08 just for the heck of it. (chrisitan rock LOL)Oh, Im also doing my own arrangement of the legendary Canon in D. Quite fun to mess around with since its the same chord progression. Im adding my own "Canon Rock-esq" twist to the end of it too. (Don't hate me) |

I'm finishing up two pieces currently, both choral/vocal:
A bass solo in C minor, a setting of some of Psalm 22 ("My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?" It's a relatively downer of a text)
A seven-part benediction, which is a setting of Revelation 22:20-21 (the last two verses of the Bible). The text for this is Latin.
As you can see I like to use scripture verses for my classical pieces, though I'm going to be writing something for this sixteenth century poem I found once I'm done my other projects. |

I'm working on a classical piece for guitar in Dm, and trying to make it sad. I've got about 6-8 bars worth that I am completely satisfied with. I've got the ending too lol. I'm planning to do it in ternary form... any tips? This is my first serious composition which I'm actually sticking to, unlike the others which I've abandonned. |

III. Molto vivace, A minor |
