Favorite death metal scene?

Scourge441

Obviously, some death metal scenes are very well known. There's the Florida Scene, which spawned the likes of Cynic, Atheist, and Deicide. There's New York, from which we got Suffocation, Immolation, and Incantation. Sweden gave us Entombed, Unleashed, and Dismember.

But there's some less obvious ones too. Quebec is probably best known for Cryptopsy, but they also gave us oldschool prog death legends Gorguts, modern day tech death boys Augury, and the ever-unknown Disembarkation. There's also Finland, who, outside of Demilich, also gave us Adramelech, Demigod, and Convulse.

I have to say that I like the Finnish style best. Full of doomy, dirty, evil sounding riffs (see: Convulse), as well as Demilich's atonal ownage. There's also the Mexican band Denial, who play much in the same style.

Which is your favorite? You can go strictly by location, or you can include bands from other places that play the same style as a certain scene (as I did with Denial).

Probably bands that are similar to Decapitated, Aeon, Behemoth, Obscura, and some Cynic. Probably bands that are similar to Decapitated, Aeon, Behemoth, Obscura, and some Cynic.
