I'd enjoy ranting about how much I despise DragonForce, but words don't do the amount of loathing any sort of justice. Seriously, I'd irritate myself for not being able to word it properly.

To summarize everything that most everyone else has said on this group, their rhythm guitar is way too easy (this, sub-par), and is only filler for the vocals (the not-so-bad part of the band) to ride over, the solos -- and I'll be killing myself for calling them that, later -- are one-track-minded, un-expansive, all of those other hyphenated terms that describe the immaterial, repetitive, laughable harmonies, et cetera.

I like the drummer. Not great, not terrible, but then, no one ever talks about him. I don't even know his name, come to think of it, but that's only adding to my liking of him. I don't imagine keyboardists are capable of bullshitting their musicianship, so I give him some kudos for either being very good a

actually, i am firm in my belief that i write better music than them.

in terms of technical ability i can play 18nps with that much gain on, which is faster than they can play without being sped up in studio, which they themselves admitted was true. i can also play cleaner than them at that speed too, but i understand that speed isnt everything and rarely go above 16nps which i think is the sweet spot of fast runs.

so basically i AM better at them at doing what they try to do. now fuck off to your guitar hero buddies who think they actually have talent

Im not going to come out and say that they completely suck. Personally I think they have boxed themselves into a certain type of guitar playing. Everything I have heard from them is at blistering speeds, which I respect them for, I could only dream of the speed they achieve but I feel that they are all about speed and as any good guitarist knows speed is not everything, you need some depth to the music and I just don't think they have that.
