So, uh....anyone see any good movies lately? Which reminds me! If you watch the credits of The Cave, 'Nemo' comes on after a while. Pretty badass. |

Yeah, I didn't have high expectations of that one. The whole 'spoof' thing should have ended with Scary Movie 3. After that one, it was all down hill. |

I like ibanez , and know many legitimate power metal bands who use them.
I like dragonforce and real power metal, though i hate people who even compare the two. But there are far too many faggish gh fanboys who heard ttfatf and we're like OMFG GREATEST GUITAR PLAYERS EVER, when in fact they are only, and will only ever be a novelty act. They are a mediocre band with a gimmick that got commercialised, and do not deserve to be called power metal.
Shit thats pretty long

NOW. onto more important issues: do we all agree that dio basically invented power metal? or are we manowar/helloween type thinkers? cause i personally believe dio did, but i've heard that helloween's "walls of jericho" was the beginning of the genre as we know it. now i don't know about this, but jericho sounded nothing like power metal at all to me. if i'm being a n00b, tell me. otherwise, discuss. |

Dio helped, but I think bands like Rainbow, Deep Purple, and Boston were real pioneers. Then thrash came, and helped to inspire some power metallers. |

Okay, that's tough.
Ecliptica: Solid power metal album, no disappointments whatsoever. Many great songs. (Try to get a Japanese or Argentinian version for the bonus track "Mary-Lou", it's great.)
Episode: A few filler-songs on this one, but the instrumental is great, and Forever is a beautiful song. |
