what type(s) of music are we aiming for anyways..? because i think a wide variety of genres would be most impressive.

if anyone wants to write with me, i play mostly punk and metal, with a little bit of country.

(i'm willing to contribute alot to this album... but i can't record stuff to save my life. no equip.)

any volunteers now?
I can do a rock song, some tribal drumming, funk, and some vocals for some of it.

we can also PM bands of members to see if they'll let us use a song.

I mean, free publicity! who doesn't need that? (rhetorical)

get started!

hey, I can't be on here all the time... :(

it is pretty good... needs a few effects, but the original song is nice. what key is it in? I might add some bass for ya... :)

and I'm thinking 16/16 grooving for the drums... agree?

and a breakdown drum solo in the middle... yeah! :)

i dont know what key its in its just standard tuning 4/4 time. and yeah it could use some effects and there is a bass trakk on it already, i think. 16/16 = 4/4 but ok works for me... um i could probably find where the drum breakdown would fit best for you.

probably around measure 25 is the best place for a drum breakdown right before the final 2 choruses. how long should the drum solo be, how many measures? and should i work on a drum track for it?

anyone else writing anything?

also what instruments do you all have access to (with recording capabilities at the same time)? cause it would be pretty cool to have a track or two with keyboard, or mandolin, or banjo, or some other instrument. that would show that people who drum arent all just dumb drummers, but intelligent musicians.

maybe we could have an official DFR band and then have other people in the group write for them as well. just an idea.

ps: there IS a difference between a guitarist, drummer, bassist, etc... and a musician.

if you desire a band, I shall join. I think we can ask Rick if he wants to let us use one of his things. I don't care too much.

I'll work on a bassline- I didn't hear one.

I can borrow banjo players, guitar players, mandolin players and a million singers. so yeah. when Humiaco gets a song together I'll ask Giaco if he's fine if I use it here.

on the tribal drumming, we need someone to lay down a basic beat for us to develop from. I'll implement trashcans and such if I can get that damn software...

my vote would be Elvis and Jesus... cause i dont care for covers too much... you can do it differently but they are never quite as good as the original... (anyone hear that aerosmith remake? some country band tried to make aerosmith's "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" into country...)
