I'm using now Wylde's 10-46 Dunlops, they sound awesome, but are a little loose with this tuning I think.. especially the thicker ones.. maybe I should try the 10-60? but wouldn't be that to heavy gauge for D standard? I would say that 60 would be too heavy for D standard, i have 60's on my Epi LP Custom and i tune to Drop B, well, thats actually only a semi-tone further down. Still, i'd go for some 56's. Unless you want to tune lower. I'd personally recommend 52-10 set. I like it really much on my Epi Les Paul.

My Epi Les Paul is a left handed plus top. I replaced the original stock nut with one made of bone. Did a set-up the way i like and it plays like a dream. plays and sounds as good or better than guitars costing 2 or 3 times as much!! For all you other lefties I found it at a great place called South Paw Guitars in Houston Texas. I drove down from Dallas and it was great an entire shop full of all left handed guitars. It was amazing I Spent a day and a half in there trying out guitars that most of us left hand players almost never get to play without flipping them upside down.

Izzy Uk
Pedro Try a Marshall MG series 15,30 or 50 DFX! £100 in the UK, Ive had a few Marshalls in my time JCM 800 Head/cab 1980s and also a Valvestate 80, but this little combo is very veretile you get lots with it, headphone/line out, CD in and couple of effects.
Have a listen to my Mp3!
Sorry I had a busted wrist when i did it, but gives you an idea of the sound i,m getting.
Epi LP studio, Marshall MG30, Zoom 606 multi fx for the EQ, have some patients and take your time and you can get some cool classic tones and drives, the amp is ideal for home use and cracks a fair punch when you push it! amazing for a solid state amplifier.

hey guys, i need some kind of help. I need a very versatil amp to play with a les paul, a non moddeling amp, something similar to a fender blues Jr, but more versatil and cheaper.
I'm in a quest to buy both amp and guitar, but I need an amp first, so please help this fellow UG'er.
