Acclamation Of Non-Euclidean Pillars

Perhaps the most monstrous(latin meaning something to be both admired and feared, mesmerizing and overwhelming) elements of Lovecraft's work are the Cyclopean ruins, often mentioned in the stories but rarely described in detail.
"Cyclopean" meaning:colossal, gigantic, archaic and vestigial, these ruins though, older than many mountains and continents are somewhat preserved and they are only ruins because they are not inhabited, but they are uninhabited and desolate only for a small time period for their creators. What leviathans could not only build but take aesthetic pleasure as well in such mind confusing and perverse creations to us?
