I found the movie to be way too... cheesy, maybe? It just didn't present the serious bits as well as it could have and the humorous bits had nowhere near the effect they had in the book. On the other hand, I've read the book about 4 times in the last two years. It changed my outlook on drug use and gives an interesting account of drug use and life in the early 70s.

I haven't read the book, but it is on my to-read list (in fact, it's next, after I finish The Wind in the Willows, a very easy read that I had during my childhood but had lost and recently found).<br />

So, as of right now, I like the movie more, but that's slightly unfair.
