For one, Fender has an unmatched quality for a much lower price than all other decent products. In order to purchase a decent Gibson SG, you'll need to spend at least $2,000. For a decent Fender Strat, you'll only need to spend about $400.
Here's a true story: A few years back, I played a Gibson SG at a local store and it was priced at somewhere around $2,000. I noticed that, after purchasing my Fender Strat that was only $350 back then, Fender was a much better brand.
