So can any of you explain 'the adnominal constituents of the noun phrase' to me?

Nope . It's a strange thing: we can all spot incorrect grammar, but we don't know any of the specific grammatical names (i.e. how many of you knew that the words "the" and "a" were called "articles"?).

I knew that

And can you explain the Split Infinite to me??

You lack a period after 'that'.

The point is top weed out little incursions like this and crucify their creators.

... I'll just point this out and quietly move on.

Just to mock me, the college makes all those who do not take A-level English, study for a Level 3 Communications certificate. :(

Help me!
My english language skills are slowly degrading. 2 weeks ago, my maths teacher wrote the word 'altogether' on the board and I didn't think it was a word. I then realised after 5 minutes it was, but believed it to be mispelt. I thought it should have been 'all together'.

It's really weird. Every time I ask someone from the UK for help with grammar, they go like 'there are no rules, that's how it is.'
I mean, it's quite sad that I know about the adnominal constituents of the noun phrase while Col doesn't. :p

They're called particles actually to let you know.

Isn't particle the term for every word that has no defined meaning? I was speaking more specific, like a is an article, to is an infinitive, etc, but they are all called particles.

I did mean "what's" but I was clearly frustrated at the time. If I could edit that comment, I would.
