Guitar Pro's buggyness...

Metal_Rich

The latest version was so slow and laggy that I ended up downgrading to the older version, but with it you lose the capability to open the GP files that have the usual error of "Update Your Guitar Pro Software".

Anyone else got any bug issues?

GP5 isn't laggy if you turn off the RSE, but it runs fine on my computer so I keep the RSE. GP5 isn't laggy if you turn off the RSE, but it runs fine on my computer so I keep the RSE.

For me, it has some kind of strange error. When I keep it open for a long time, an error pops out, saying "Virtual memory low". It doesn't happen with GP4. What kind of problem could that be? at random times when i try to play the file, ill get these errors in some other language...french i think...and then when i click the x button on the window, and play the gp5 file again, the volume is twice as loud as it was...anyone else get this?
and sometimes on my smaller computer, it will get really laggy, ...cant even play 16 notes with 5 different instruments and complete the bar without an error after each note

I never use RSE, I find it sounds like shit to be honest.

I got sometimes that as well. It's because GP usually uses MIDI to play the gp5 files. If another application is using that (it can be even GP as well, if it's opened twice, but a lot of programs use MIDI), it crashes with a french error message ...
Try to close everything that uses any sound in your computer. Like all running GP, WinAmp, Media player(s), and everything, and then try again... It solves the problem for me :)

And to all those who find it laggy: quit other applications, or buy more RAM ... or a faster computer :P GP5 with RSE uses quite an amount of RAM and processor time, even if you turn RSE off!

It uses fuck loads of physical memory thats the only problem with it. Mine just about does it but occasionally has "The French Message" and then everythings just louder and more distorted. It's annoying but this programme has given me soo much that i really can't complain! It uses fuck loads of physical memory thats the only problem with it. The problem with GP 5.2 is that it has a memory management issue. It just keeps using more and more virtual memory, yesterday it reached 1.7gb and started throwing me the french error message. It also uses a LOT of memory, it doesn't flash the memory it doesn't use so it just keeps using more and more, it was using almos 700mb of RAM at the time the virtual memory reached 1.7gb.
Just save, close and re open, until they make a patch to solve it

Yeah i see, and i have the same problems, it is easier to work with GP4 because you can print it bigger, although the sound is not that good, but forget the sound of these machines and play yer guitar man ! I have GP5, but the tabs that I download still tell me to update my software, which sucks because I can't find any updates. Also the tabs that I am able to download don't use RSE which kinda sucks.
