You can't bend a note on a tremolo harmonica, because the notes you play together are tuned to a somewhat different frequency, so you cannot bend them both correctly.

But, if you want to bend on a diatonic harmonica: drop your jaw while your inhaling, pull your tongue back and suck harder. (Experiment with it, it doesn't work from the first time. You can also move your harp a little bit towards your upper lip while dropping your jaw, for instance).

I've found that it is easier for me to bend a note exhaling if i drop my jaw a little and blow harder. Same as what Hendrix said i guess but it applies to inhale and exhale. On which holes do you do that? (I heard you can't bend blow-notes on each hole) It also depends on the key of your harmonica, in some keys, you have to suck/blow very hard to bend a note (well, if you have to suck very hard, it's easy to bend a blow-note and vice versa)

It's so hard to learn to do firstly, but when you got your technique sorted it's easy as.

Riding a bike, basicly.

I've found that your Harmonica itself has a lot to do with it. I couldn't bend for crap on a cheap $5 pocket pal, but I can bend without even thinking about it on my Hohner Special 20. I find it easier to bend on a C harp ...but on the G harp I just cannot make it
Maybe it comes from the tonality ?

My D harp has been giving me trouble, especially on the 2 hole draw. God that thing is a bitch to bend. I just learned an idea that has actually helped quite a bit in the last hour or so. When you are drawing without bending picture yourself saying EEE, and when you are trying to bend, picture yourself saying UUU. It has been helping me. Still trying to get that full-tone bend though. I've got no problems with most bending, but I'm having a little trouble bending hole 4. Any tips? What makes it different from the others? I've got no problems with most bending, but I'm having a little trouble bending hole 4. Any tips? What makes it different from the others?

Overdraw is a bend you play while drawing (sucking air in). This is the most common practice (and easier to learn?). An overblow is a bend you play by blowing the hole, which I'm not too familiar with. Anybody care to explain how you can overblow? Overdraw is a bend you play while drawing (sucking air in).
