sum_ugly_man	It's not the clothes or smoking that makes the hippie. It's the mentality(In my honest opinion) I know atleast 30 people who smoke pot, and go around calling themselves hippies. But they are going to resort to violence even at the most innocent remarks. That in my opinion is not a very open minded behavior, and being open minded is part of being a hippie. Aerokizzombie	ok, long/blogworthy post here... but its not the hair, not the style, not the music, not the drugs (cuz I dont do em) its the mind and thought process. I just happen to fit into those parts too. I believe in peace - most of the time - but if someone does something to me, Ill throw the second punch in a heartbeat. I dont believe in stereotyping someone by their appearance, and will wait til I see their actions, words, and points of veiw. Then decide if I like them or not. Around here, its usually not. I don't believe in shared wealth, if you do something that is harder, better for society, you get paid more. However I DO think that pricks like Paris, and the other people famous for having kids, and/or doing nothing or riding on the coattails of rich family dont deserve what they have. I know for a fact that I'm not going to go to college, I will either be a musician or work in a small town somewhere doing some sort of hard work (desk job would kill me). Unless I have kids, I probably wont live long because Id rather be dead than the useless old guy surviving on wasted money and tons of pills just so I dont feel any pain. I am smart enough to realize the rediculous standards that society expect us to live by. I am extremely pissed off about these things, but happiness overrides the anger because I CAN realize the bullshit. This includes: men should have haircuts, all other types of discrimination, "formal" dress (theres no reason for it as far as I am concerned, everyone should wear what they want, when they want), "cuss words" (I get nigger, because it was used extremely negatively in the past. but the others are just letters put together to make sound), dumbass rules (Im in school, no hats or sunglasses inside, etc.), people who explain their rules with "because I said so." If you do this, go fuck yourself. If you have an opinion there better be a goddamn reason behind (and a reason that makes sense) or you're gonna be ignored. People that use words without knowing their true meaning (happens alot with hippie, I think only actual hippies/transcendentalists know what hippie really means) If you know what transcendentalist means, congratulations. Also, judging by this forum, I suspect that a good bit of people here think they are hippies, but are not. DRUGS DO NOT MAKE YOU A HIPPIE DIPSHIT!!! Other than that I (self diagnosis) believe that I have slight backwards OCD that makes perfect things piss me off. Also I have an addictive personality which has taken its form in hair and music for now (one reason Im gonna try to stay away from drugs) I think alot about space, weird random shit that I cant explain that confuses the shit out of me. I actually learn about something before I make an opinion about it. This is why, even though I am an athiest, I learn as much about religon as possible because I am not against religon and if I find a reason to believe in and god(s) I will, but it needs to be something individual. Organized religons are so corrupt that I wont even bother with them. This also applies to everything else I believe, I believe something and go through all the other options to see if those make more sense to me. I would rather learn how to do something myself than pay someone else to do it for me. Id rather have a low paying job doing backbreaking work and constantly on the move than a high paying, do nothing desk job. Although, being that right now Im a teenager with little money Ill go ahead and take any job, because unfortunately it takes money to get your views across. I very rarely eat fast food, usually dont take medicine unless I get into some extreme pain. I prefer to be as natural as possible.
