As you know, what we do in this group is show the best music UG has to offer to all of UG's users, through the Community page... but soon, UG music will have its very own UG Music Page!
The best mp3s UG has to offer, chosen by YOU, will be featured on that page... but not only that! The UG Music Page will also feature "UG Albums", which are compilations of the best mp3s, again chosen and compiled by YOU!
How does this work? Read the explanation below!
Hey all!

HOW ARE THE ALBUMS MADE? 1.The first and current method of compiling these albums is the one that has been taking place unofficially in the forums. You may know these as the UG Original Album projects. In these projects, users submit songs that they or their friends have recorded, and they are entered into a competition to be put onto the album. UGers themselves vote for the best songs, and the prime cuts are featured in the final product.
2. A new method that may be arising shortly is the "official" version of this project, where the UG staff will host their own official competitions. I don't have much info on this process at the moment, but I'm sure it'll have much more flash and pizzazz than the usual competitions.
3. The third method will be through the Musician's Guild group. This group is the place where UGers post links to up and coming talent that they think merits some appreciation. Good songs that people have found by either browsing the profiles or talking to friends will be posted here for the right people to see. UG Albums will possibly be made in this group as a compilation of good songs that have been submitted. Once again, this process is still being developed, so details cannot be given at this time. However, rest assured that big things are in the works! WHO MAKES THE ALBUMS? The current method of making UG Albums involves nothing more than Contributors and Voters. Contributors submit original songs that they have recorded, and cross their fingers. Then, a few levers are pulled and a few people run around frantically in the background, and voilą! A competition has been formed!
The competitions have consisted of four groups - Soft Instrumentals, Instrumentals, Vocals, and Hard Rock/Metal. These groups are voted on one at a time by UGers, who rate the songs in said groups from best to worst. The best ones get on the album, and the worst don't. The in-between songs are held off for more conclusive voting at the end of the competition.
There have so far been two official UG Albums, and one Christmas Album. The third UG Album is currently in the works, as is the UG Electro Album.
If the current forum-based method is joined by the more official methods stated above, we'll be looking forward to many wonderful projects to come. So get recording, because your song just may be on the next UG Album!
