:D Woo! Name's Jes and a 7 string is my next guitar. I love low tunings and on my six string I once tuned to C standard and loved the crunch but still... I wanted moooore :D. Anyway my buddy had a RG7321 a few years ago and I loved it, Im a bit skeptical though because the bridge just broke one day and it was just a simple fixed strat looking bridge. Anyway I was considering the RG7321 but I might save a bit more for S730 or 7 string hellraiser by schector. I'll probably have one or the other by mid fall :x. :D Woo! I was always attracted to the prospect of an extended range, and eventually me and my bandmate decided to move to 7 strings. I've being loving it ever since :). I'm Chris and play a 7-string fully right now, because I don't have a working 6 string, I messed them all up. I also like playing it because you can do some pretty cool stuff with that B string. cool, jsut remember you dont have to change your playing because of that extra string...its still a guitar.
jsut try to adapt to using it in chordal work and riffs.
try some fear factory for easy 7 string stuff to play

Yeah Fear Factory stuff and some Korn is a great way to break into playing a 7, dont try and think of it in the 6+1 approach, you'll limit what you can actually do with the extra notes....

By thinking of it all together you'll find playing stuff will actually be easier, you can move positions on to the B string to save time and you can incorporate it into your solo's.....rather than just relying on it to provide the low notes exclusively.

Sorry if you don't understand that, but it honestly sounded a lot better in my head  damn too much jagermeister last night.....

I have an Ibanez Apex2 7 string which i mainly compose my own stuff or play UNearth covers on.

I am trying to find another guitarist who plays a seven to make an amazing band.

I'm Derek and I live in Mesa, AZ.

I tooled around with getting a 7-String for like 2 years before I actually bought one. Now, I own one and couldn't be happier.

I currently own a C7 Hellraiser, but will most likely get a Loomis signature model next, since it appears to be a Hellraiser with a FR.

The loomis is ash bodied btw, so it will sound a bit brighter than your hellraiser.

That's fine.

I have never been too concerned with woods. I just goof around with my amp settings until I get a sound I like.

Guess I'm kinda naive in that area. *shrug*

Recently pick up a scratch n dent Schecter 007 on ebay. It's my 1st 7 and I need to do a bit of work to it, but so far, it's a blast.

Replacing the pickups is 1st and then I'll prolly throw on some locking tuners. I may end up fiddling with the wiring depending on the pups I end up with. Just minor stuff.

<.< >.>

wow, there are a LOT more people than when the group was first made. SWEET!

Anyhow, I'm Thomas, and I've been playing 7 string for nearly 2 years (it'll be 2 years in July). I started out by playing Korn, like about 90% of beginner 7 stringers. But now I've gone on to learn more Dream Theater, Nevermore, Flaw (not hard, but cool sounding), and Meshuggah (New Millennium Cyanide Christ is my favorite from them, by far).

I've got a Schecter Revenger 7 that I call "Revenga" at the moment, till I can think of a better name. I'm probably going to get an Ibanez S7320 for my next 7 string...unless I win the lottery, in that case, it'll be the Rusty Cooley 7 string, or maybe an ESP 7.

And I have the same powers as hmmm...as in we both don't know to what extent they end...yay me.

Take care guys, and keep on rockin'-oh, and one more tidbit, I've converted the lead guitarist in my band...first he didn't understand what the big deal about 7 strings were.  I showed him Meshuggah, Nevermore, and he saw Unearth live, and now he wants to incorporate my 7 string guitar in a few songs...total conversion.  And for a hard rock band, it's going to be pretty damn heavy.

I'm KC. From CA. Recently got a used Rg7321. It was $250, and considering my other guitars were a Squier and a Gio [that I spent more on than the RG], and I'd been wanting a 7-string, I couldn't pass it up. I love it. I played in my church a few times. XD Anyway, 7-strings rock. Glad I got it. And glad to be a part of this group. Huzaa. I'm KC. From CA. Recently got a used Rg7321.
