indie used to be a great genre, a really strong and clever wave of british lead music that transformed the 80's 90's and 2000's but they way artic monkeys ripped of several indie greats including the stone roses and the libertines and mushed it up into whiney songs about how many whoars there are in sheffield and everyone loves them critics the general public when they dont deserve it there unoriginal and just generally bad my mate lent me their first album and i couldnt get any of the tracks it just seemed so boring and now they have the masses onto the previously small indie scene and you see bands like the holloways just rehashing dead indie acts and putting crappy lyrics to it
now previously great radio stations like XFm now play crap non stop when two years ago they played a well rounded intelligent selection of small and classic indie bands
