White Stripes or The Raconteurs

GuitarManDan15

Which band is better IYO, or are they both the same or just too different.

I'll have to say the raconteurs even though early white stripes was emmensly good, icky thump didnt have the sticking power but consolers of the lonley was and still is epic.

Carolina Drama ftw

Sort of depends what mood I'm in really :p:
Raconteurs are my favourite out of the two, at the moment, but that's probably just because of the new album.

i would say new raconteurs over new white stripes, but old white stripes beats the new stuff. whatever focuses on the guitar prowess of jack white is the best, and at this moment that would be the new raconteurs. i would say new raconteurs over new white stripes, but old white stripes beats the new stuff. whatever focuses on the guitar prowess of jack white is the best, and at this moment that would be the new raconteurs.

dnt Know

jack kicks ass on anything he does tbh i think the raconteurs because he gets to do more in that band and play more styles like, in the white stripes he is renowned for playing blues, whereas in the raconteurs they play blues or retro style rock and folky stuff.

The White Stripes, but only because there's waaay more material with them. The Raconteurs so far have proven to be more consistent than the Stripes, so if they keep it up I might have to say The Raconteurs.

But it's aaaaaaall good!

I think I like the Racontuers a little better because they can be so intricate without being crowded.. but on the other hand, the Stripes are raw and simple without sounding like some idiot garage band that thinks theyre good because they play loud. hellfire21

its hard 2 compare the 2 bands, they r so different in sound

the only similarity i see is the fact the Jack White is in both bands, lol

but i guess i like the Stripes more for some reason

i think i'm on hellfire21 way. it's hard to choose one. i'm likely to The White Stripes, just because i'm a little punk-bluesy. but i like The Raconterus pretty much, since i get almost rapt hearing "The Switch and the Spur" (don't you think of it by the bad way. i'm not pervert or something like that). i think i'm on hellfire21 way. it's hard to choose one. i'm likely to The White Stripes, just because i'm a little punk-bluesy. but i like The Raconterus pretty much, since i get almost rapt hearing "The Switch and the Spur" (don't you think of it by the bad way. i'm not pervert or something like that).

I wanna see Jack in a band with Ben Swank, Johnny Walker, Mick Collins, Ben Blackwell , Ko Melina and Jack Lawrence. That would be the ultimate garage rock band. I think there's stuff on YOUTUBE of Jack Meg and Mick Collins that's pretty cool, plus has any one downloaded the "Pre - Tour Shoot" skit that Jack Meg and "Arthur Dottweiller" did? It rocks!!!

I much prefer the White Stripes to The Raconteurs.. don't know why though. Theres just something that can make me listen to The White Stripes whenever I want but I can't listen to the Raconteurs whenever, almost like I get bored of them easy, if you know what I mean? The White Stripes have definitely influenced me more. Broken Boy Soldier was awesome, but Consolers of the Lonely has a quite different vibe and sound. I'm looking forward to Jack's new band. Patrick Keeler is awesome by the way :) The White Stripes have definitely influenced me more. Broken Boy Soldier was awesome, but Consolers of the Lonely has a quite different vibe and sound.
