And also check this site out. I've used it for some essays I wrote.

Listen to these albums. I found this on wikipedia but I agree with it wholeheartedly.

* Tourist in Paradise by The Rippingtons
* Double Vision by Bob James and David Sanborn
* Rise by Herb Alpert
* Morning Dance by Spyro Gyra
* Breezin' by George Benson
* Collaboration' by George Benson and Earl Klugh
* Feels So Good by Chuck Mangione
* Festival by Lee Ritenour
* Fourplay by Fourplay
* Rapture by Anita Baker
* Winelight by Grover Washington, Jr.
* "Europe" by European Jazz Trio

And try to find your influences in funk and pop. A lot of melodies in smooth jazz are popy and funky.

Find a sax player. Not really. If you want to talk about it here is my MSN. It's easier that way. mad_player_69@hotmail.com

WE HAVE JAZZ CHAT!!!

On the forums click chat on the top line, then for the room have it say #jazz instead of #ultimate-guitar. It's although lonely in there atm.

Not only do hot girls not like jazz, but in my area, no one likes jazz. Im the only one for an hour and a half until I reach the city, so its a pain in the ass for jamming with jazz guys.

Same here. It's rather sad actually.
I'm not even talking about people to jam with. I just want someone to talk to about Jazz.

How can you say that? What about Charlie Christian? Les Paul? Django Reinhardt? Martin Taylor?

Do they not fit in either?

guitar + jazz = wrong in my opinion it just doesn't fit in the genre.

There are a lot of hot girls in my school jazz band (all sax players), but they seem to only like playing and not listening to "crazy music". :( Damn them not being true enthusiasts.
