The Kinks are possibly the only band to match the Who and The Beatles in British invasion. Though they were never commercial enough to be as big. They are still one of the biggest influences in Rock music due to the innovative and creative lyrics and raw sounding guitars. They played a big influence to bands like Van Halen and the Jam.
