Well he [F-master 5k] used to change the contents of the list constantly, because everyone would complain of a misspelling, or an omission of their favorite metal band. Then he gave up and listed no bands, and now its bands again, please don't complain, it accomplishes nothing, and though Testament is amazing, its relatively meaningless to have every great metal band ever in that list...

well sabbath and zeppelin are around the same time, maiden is formed in the mid-seventies, but isn't even remotely relevant till about '79 or so.... sabbath invented heavy basically, and maiden re-invented everything... faster louder, complex, massive harmonies used in metal (which were used by thin lizzy, but maiden made them better) iron maiden is the dawn of most kinds of modern metal (and by modern i mean most NWOBHM bands took cues from them, and thrash was a hybrid of them and the more motorhead/punk sound....) zeppelin capitalized on high gain first, then sabbath got heavy, then iron maiden brought everything together making it awesome....
