You sound like a kid who thinks he's amazing at metal, and has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

Not saying that's what you are, just how you came across.

I'm into rock and metal. Not the trash metal crap, the stuff that can at least make a little bit of sense. Like LOG, that's about as heavy as i'll go. I usually stay around the rock and sometimes alternative music. I'm into rock and metal. Not the trash metal crap, the stuff that can at least make a little bit of sense. I like the experimental/proggressive style of music, it has that added excitement of me being perhaps one of the first to hear this type of music, and when it is popular, and has become main stream I can tell the story of the early days for the sake of posterity. I like just about everything. Ok, not rap, cheesey pop, emo, or most country. But just about everything else. My favorite style to play is the original stuff I write. Guess you'd call it heavy-groove. I like just about everything. Ok, not rap, cheesey pop, emo, or most country. But just about everything else.

I have a strong affinity towards blues and jazz, much reminiscent to that of Eric Johnson, but I'll listen to anything that sounds good, from classical to the most br00tlez thing you show me, as long as it doesn't make me want to stick pins in my ears so I don't have to hear it anymore. Example of what would cause me to voluntarily take my own hearing away: any band that has had anything to do with Disney. Most types of metal, excluding mallcore, mostly "underground" stuff, and some horror punk, punk from the 90's, some "underground" country and folk. My favorite to play is black metal, though, I write my own, and I'm sorta addicted to tremolo picking. I'm getting more into death metal, though. Hard rock in either drop D or drop C, some Linkin Park or Staind or something up tempo. Acoustic, both finger picking and alternate picking. Hard rock in either drop D or drop C, some Linkin Park or Staind or something up tempo. Acoustic, both finger picking and alternate picking.

Children of Bodom has got to be my favorite band...I'm not sure what to classify those guys as though.

I'm also quite fond of 80's hair metal and power, symphonic, and prog metal.

pretty much anything except country, pop, hip hop, and nu-metal. Mostly heavy metal (Metallica, Megadeath, Pantera, etc), blues (SRV, BB King, Albert Collins), and classical (Beethoven, Bach, Brahms...the three B's). I must admit that Brian Setzer Orchestra is quite good as well. I would have to say I love Metal first off (Older like Metallica, Megadeth, Judas Priest, Pantera, and Iron Maiden) and newer Metal (Disturbed, A7X, All That Remains, etc.) and I like Alternative (like Breaking Benjamin, Alterbridge, Shinedown, etc.).
NO Country, NO Rap, and NO Hip Hop.
