Buckethead because he is an amazing player, I have yet to find a song of his i dont like,
Michael Angelo Batio, just because hes so amazing and no one knows who he is.
Mick Thompson of SlipKnoT *holds up flame shield* because that was my first favorite band.

Michael Amott-Love his tone, his riff work, and his leads are just phenomenal.
Randy Rhoads-The emotion he put into his solos, and his riffs, was just incredible
Guthrie Govan-Perfectly fluid playing, he has complete control over his instrument, makes me a bit envious :p:

wow, this is a tough one... I've got a million favorites, but here goes anyway.

Neil Young - He's far from being technically proficient, but he puts so much emotion into it that his guitar says just as much as he does. Combine it with absolutely amazing songwriting, and you have one of the greatest musicians in history.
Slash - What can I say that hasn't been said a billion times over? Great blues/rock player, and if it wasnt for him I'd be very different than I am today.
Dimebag - Amazing shredder, but has a bluesy undertone that a lot of shredders lack. He even showed Jazz influences on Pantera's cover of "Planet Caravan".

umm... lets see

Jimmy Page

c'mon, we all know he's good.

Tony Iommi

he plays lefty AND had the ends of two of his fingers sliced off... and them melted some bottle caps pnto the stumps.

Steve Harris

Ok i know hes a bassist but bass IS a kind of guitar so i guess he counts. Harris is cool man. Seriously hes the bassist/songwriter/founder of iron maiden. without him iron maiden probably wouldn't exist (or suck if it did)

BucketHead: Because his style is very diverse and pretty unique, and he is one of the most technically profficient guitarists I know of.(also the cool legends and mysteries of his origins and identity) Paul Gilbert: Because he is a super skilled, and musically vertuosic guitar meastro, and he is a true inspiration. Tony Iommi: Because his riffs were the first real thing that got me interested in guitar. Slash - This guy made me want to pick up a guitar and just play.

Carlos Santana - There's nobody still around who can top this guy for the amount of pure feeling that he puts into the instrument. I saw him live. Fairly low-energy crowd, but the amount of energy coming out of that guitar was mind blowing.

Hendrix - The greatest. Period. Reason why I said nobody STILL AROUND for Santana.

Ignore the fact that I'm with John Petrucci in my pic.  He's top 10, but not top 3.
