Zooropean11 wrote on Dec 17th, 2008 8:14pmI've bee using Les Pauls for a while now. In fact, my first guitar was an Epi LP standard, however, I recently bought a true vintage guitar: A Gibson Les Paul original 1974 Custom (no changes in the hardware, all it needed was a set-up).
I'm in love! quote |

I just bought an Epi Les Paul Special II. Although I own a 1972 Tokai Ripoff, I never played on one. I play punk rock and it suits my style perfectly. I was mainly using Ibanez before. I plan on getting a few more Specials and definitely a nice Custom further down the road. |
Tokai actually makes some scarily good replicas these days, I played one and was blown away.

I can actually see where you're coming from with the Ibanez guitars being more metal oriented but I never really found certain guitars to be suited to a genre. There's kick ass metal guitar players using telecasters these days. I prefer strat style stuff for the heavier things as well though.
Les Pauls are great in that they sort of make me slow down and appreciate each note. quote |
