Daaaammmmnnnn....that's a fine set up. Marshall and a Gibson, it's great. BTW if your going all the way with the amp and guitar i'd get something like a Fulltone Clyde Wah or an RMC. One of the boutique wah pedals would be great to own, i'd get one but I don't have the cash just yet. :p

BTW how did you post the pictures? Mine always appear as /img/ tags but no pictures show up. I'll post my rig if I can figure out how to put pictures up.

^ Same here, my Vox hasn't been used the last few weeks cause of the sound. I'm hoping a Fulltone Pot and new inductor could fix that. ^ Same here, my Vox hasn't been used the last few weeks cause of the sound. I'm hoping a Fulltone Pot and new inductor could fix that.

wow, schweet setups guys! :D

My cab's delivery got delayed until the end of this week  the shop messed the order up and forgot to order it in :grrr:

But the amp's in ok condition, the covering is pretty frayed around the edges but it still looks schweet :D I think it has the stock Mullard valves in it too, which will make them 40 years old :haha:

I guess I'll be needing a new set of valves pretty soon and flog the originals on eBay for a small fortune to some anorak collector who won't actually use them :p They're probs more brittle than the bones of an elderly 19th century man with ricketts :haha:

Actually, the shop I ordered the 1960ax cab from has messed me around a lot, first spouting some bullshit, saying they couldn't find the Marshall rep to talk to about the non-sending of the cab to the shop, and then saying Marshall are bringing out a new line of amps and as a result production was held back and realistically I'd be waiting a month for it to arrive.

So today my mum called a couple of music shops today when I was at school, and she managed to find a shop in Glasgow which sold a vintage styled Marshall cab - the handwired 1960ahw. Only problem is, it was priced by the shop at £570 ($1100!!), so she haggled it down to £475 (around $900, still brutal on my wallet ) but it's still a pretty sweet deal, it looks to be an even better cab with better speakers, build quality etc. :) So my huge old Plexi is going to finally be wed to a gorgeous and classy cab

Picking it up tomorrow afternoon. Expect long awaited amp pr0n to be posted and maybe some sound clips by the end of the summer :)

Haha thanks! It sound awesome, at the moment I can get an acceptable volume at about 0.75 (not even 1!!!) and running the BB2 on maximum boost I can get a semi-overdriven sound that is really quite nice, sort of mid-60's Pete Townshend or later Beatles style :p

Cranked it to about 8 for a couple of seconds here and there, and the sound was just so....*grabs crotch* but I had to turn it down because (a) my house is joined onto another and (b) my acoustic started rattling ominously and I was worried it would fall over :haha:

Zeppelin, Cream, Sabbath...you name it! :p And it's amazingly responsive too, twiddling about with the treble and presence and it makes my LP sound like a Strat or a Rickenbacker, it's awesome!

And how did they crank them? Well Eric, Jimmy and Pete are pretty much totally deaf now, that's how they managed :haha:

It's pretty sweet. The main thing is the flexibility. 4 channels, 3 modes per channel, sep eq on each channel. So I've got a channel set up for Acoustic tone, one for kind of a shimmery clean, one for like 70's rock, and one for a more modern sound. On the fly I can kick the fx loop on/off or take any one of my base channels and toggle it (via footswitch) to a higher gain mode. It's great when I don't get confused and accidentalyl hit the wrong button or hit a button when I don't mean to. :)

well, you'd want to probably yeah, turn down the treble, definitely turn up the bass and probably the middle. Up the gain as well. I don't know santana very well, I'm just talking about generally smoothing out yoru sound. Keep your tone knobs away from 10 and your volume up. Unfortunately I don't have a good instrument mic and the direct out never sounds as good as a cabinet so new clips aren't going to be forthcoming soon. There's some clips on my porfile page that were almost all recorded with my LP Deluxe, but it was through a L6 toneport, not a real amp. well, you'd want to probably yeah, turn down the treble, definitely turn up the bass and probably the middle. nah, it's all good man. My other rig is a valvestate, or rather an avt. It's a decent enough amp. It all depends on what you're using it for. I have a little Vox DA5 that I bought to take around with me. Man, it doesn't sound like a 100w head pushing 4 12's but it's nto really supposed to. My biggest gripe with my AVT is that it loses headroom bad around 6 on the master volume. Not really a big deal if you're keeping the volume low. nah, it's all good man. Hey guys, I'm back from my holiday :D

First of all, wow BTKA, that is schmecksy to extreme! Trans black on flame maple = hubba hubba :p:

Second, got the verdict on my speakers. Yep, it's natural for the old style-Celestions to crackle for the first couple of weeks and months, I have to break in the speaker. Which means I have to play it a lot. And loud. Very loud.

What a shame!
