I once nearly lucid dreamed by counting the fingers on my hand in the dream. I had 6, and then I realised I was dreaming. But I got so excited that I woke up like 2 seconds after! :(

So yeah, now I often count the fingers on my hands while I'm awake in the hope that it will become a habit that I continue in my dreams.

Tel'aran'rhiod.

Just saying.

Most of my... LDs are induced by the WILD method, and so I essentially open my eyes, look at my alarm clock, look away, and look back. If the time has changed impossibly, then I'm dreaming. One of the more unsettling methods (that I actually knew was unsettling as I was doing it) was when I was looking in a mirror and making movements, almost taunting the image in front of me. I pretty much kept moving until the reflection did something different.
