LizarD0	Some of the books from the Oxford university press "A very short introduction" series are good. It ranges across many subject and the particle physics one got me genuinely interested in the subjects. And it does not require any mathematical knowledge so it's also good for people still in school or people who are just interested to know a bit more about science, but do not have the mathematical qualifications.
