rougegratton	Bout liverpool hosting the Capital of Culture festival this year?   i reckon it'll be a bad time for people who live in the city,   however, i'll be goin to see bands playin in the new arena, any one else goin? The Overlord	I think they should have spent millions of pounds leading up to this year on something other than a new pavement along Edge Lane and some pretty lampposts with blue lights in them. In all fairness, we fucked up quite royally trying to prepare for this, i.e. nothing's finished except the new stadium, which does look pretty nice. rabidguitarist	We've only got capital of culture because it combats unemployment, and we have a lot of it. BUT, we've got the turner prize exhibitions, a few really good art displays, loads of gigs, so It's a good thing really. This is due to the fact that Liverpool had the worlds largest port from the 19th century up until the 20th.
