Dream Theater-Vanden Plas, Circus Maximus, Spock's Beard (prog rock, not metal)
Opeth-Porcupine Tree (also prog rock, but still pretty heavy)

You won't find much like Tool.

You may like Isis, an atmospheric/sludge metal band. And if you like them, also check out Pelican (instrumental band) You may like Isis, an atmospheric/sludge metal band. And if you like them, also check out Pelican (instrumental band)

I would recommend Edge of Sanity. It's quite much like Opeth, without so many clean parts. Both Crimson albums are very good. I would recommend Edge of Sanity. It's quite much like Opeth, without so many clean parts. Both Crimson albums are very good.
