Best Metal Bassists to Grace the Earth

crfowler_09

We all have our favorites.

Cliff Burton of course, Steve Harris, Tom Araya

Would Alice in Chains be considered metal?

If so Mike Starr is damn good.

John Myung, Alex Webster, everyone who's ever played bass for Symphony X, the guy from Necrophagist, and Geezer Butler.

There's plenty more, but I'll stop there.

BTBAM are awesome, they are more metal than -core anyways. And they are a lot more than just metalcore. Just listen to Colors all the way through.Anyways, I agree that they have a good bassist.

I agree with all of the above except for Cliff Burton and Les Claypool. I personally think they are quite overrated. (Awaiting being flamed  )

Then just to mention some more heavy (as in death/black) metal:

Stefan Fimmers (Necrophagist) is good.

Orion from Behemoth is brilliant, but doesn't reach his full potential because he mostly just follows Nergal's guitaring.

Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse is good, but also, can't hear him play all that well with the music.

Martin Mendez from Opeth is brilliant.
