I need a new guitar

Shortay	Yo, I've been thinking about picking up a new guitar and was hoping if you guys could point me in the right direction. Basically, I have about a thousand dollars and want a guitar that can pull off some metal songs. I'd prefer a guitar that has a nice bass with a low midrange and a high treble if possible. I've heard about Ibanez' and wondering if any of their models would do well. Cheers.
