The following update was posted on Metal Mind's official website:

"Vader will release their third DVD in October. The DVD entitled
"...And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw" will feature the footage from the
band's fantastic concert at Stodola Club in February 2007, which was
the final stop of the tour promoting their latest album "Impressions in
Blood". The show was filmed with 7 cameras so you can expect a truly
amazing recording with great lights and dynamic shots - over 80 min. of
brutal, fast, uncompromising death metal!! As a special surprise for
the fans, the concert featured also a guest appearance of Orion: a
member of two other great Polish metal acts: Vesania & Behemoth.

The DVD is scheduled for release on 15th October in Europe and on 5th
November in USA (via MVD) and will also include: fully animated menu,
band bio, discography, interview with Peter, brand new video clip
"Sword of the Witcher" (taken from the forthcoming RPG game "The
Witcher"), desktop images, photo gallery, weblinks, and Dolby Digital
5.1 Surround Sound.

"And Blood Was Shed In Warsaw" DVD will be also available in a special
DVD+CD limited swing case edition! It's a must have for fans of good
quality metal music!

Vader was the first death metal band from behind the Iron Curtain to
succeed on the world's most important music markets. Their "Morbid
Reich" demo from 1990 is considered the best selling demo tape in the
history of death metal. In their career, Vader did a great number of
tours, made lots of festival appearances and played gigs with top metal
bands such as Bolt Thrower, Deicide, Metallica, Krisiun, Malevolent Creation, Slayer, Samael, Anathema, Testament, Marduk, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Vital Remains, and Kreator, to mention only a few… Year 2008 marks the 25th anniversary of Vader's existence."

I am looking forward to this!! Vader's Live shows come out great, I own the Live in Tokyo where they cover Reign in Blood, definitely a good buy. I will be sure to pick this up as well!

They are one of the few Polish death metal acts that have really established themselves in the world, and, established death metal as a prominent form of music in Poland. They like to play their solos in minor key, little different from american death metal. Opeth to release a Live Album!---8/28/2007www.peacev ille.comPeaceville Records is proud to announce the forthcoming release by one of the metal world’s greatest acts.
"The Roundhouse concert will always be a very memorable gig for us for many reasons, but most importantly it caught the band at the peak of the "Ghost Reveries" tour. I must say we're quite tight after 18 odd months on the road supporting the record. I'm extremely pleased we got it documented and I hope it will please our beloved fans as well. As an extra bonus we've decided to collaborate with one of our past labels for this release, the legendary Peaceville Records. Here's a toast to Hammy and Lisa for helping us back in the day as well as to the new team for preserving this pleasurable memory for today’s music lovers as well as for generations to come." – Mikael Åkerfeldt
‘The Roundhouse Tapes’ contains a captivating Opeth performance from the Camden Roundhouse, London, UK, on November 9th, 2006 (a gig which also featured Goth metal legends Paradise Lost), and sees the band in scintillating form churning out a selection of classics from their illustrious career. You know what to expect from Opeth: unrivalled composition; seamless progressive dynamics and boundless atmosphere from the mellow to the incredibly heavy, all sealed with the unmistakable vocal presence of mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt.
Since their formation in 1990 in Sweden, Opeth has risen to the forefront of the metal world over the years; bringing many aspects of progressive rock/metal to a whole new audience by combining soft acoustic ambience with complex, melodic & heavy guitar often familiar to forms of death/black metal, perfectly concocted into a completely peerless sound. A constant factor of their success is that the band have never been afraid to experiment with their song-writing ever since their debut album, ‘Orchid’, in 1994, all the while taking us through some truly magical & hypnotic soundscapes over the years.

Steve Smyth Leaves Nevermore9/03/07www.roadrunn errecords.com/blabbermouth.net/
Guitarist Steve Smyth has officially parted ways with NEVERMORE, citing personal and business differences. "All
things find their end eventually, and at this time I wish to make it
clear that this was mutually agreed between the band and myself," Steve said in a statement. "I will continue on with other aspects of my music career, including the upcoming release of THE ESSENESS PROJECT, an all-instrumental album in the vein of progressive rock that is now finished and being prepared for release."He
continued, "After a year and four months of being out of the touring
scene due to ill health and then a kidney transplant, I have finally
been given a full health clearance by my doctors to go back on the
road, and I am now ready to return to the stage. "I am proud and extremely honored to have been a guest of Uli Jon Roth at his Sky Academy
concert series this past weekend, August 24th and 25th , in L.A. What
an awesome experience! To jam with one of the greatest, as well as
several other incredible guitarists
and musicians who have been big influences on my playing over the
years, and to make new friends as well, the whole thing was just
incredible. Many thanks to Uli for inviting me, it was truly an honor! "I am now embarking on a six-week of tour of Europe with my friends from the Danish thrash metal band, SPV recording artists HATESPHERE, first supporting BEHEMOTH in Poland, and then joining the DIMMU BORGIR tour. I have been a fan of HATESPHERE and friends with the band since 2003, when they opened for TESTAMENT at a festival we played together, and absolutely look forward to getting out with them and together, crushing Europe!" Hellhammer Re-releases DemosDeath Fiend/Triumph of Death and Satanic Rites11/29/07www.celticfrost.com---There exist countless Hellhammer
demo bootlegs, but they all utterly fail to capture the true aura, to
represent the band as it actually was. They have been compiled from
dismal multi-generation copies of the original tapes, and they are
invariably riddled with factual and historical errors or outright lies.
Former Hellhammer members Tom Gabriel Fischer, Martin Eric Ain, and
Steve Warrior have decided to rectify this situation once and for all.
"Demon Entrails" is the first official release of the legendary
Hellhammer demos "Death Fiend"/"Triumph of Death" and "Satanic Rites"
since the original limited cassette editions in 1983.
This release has been specially re-mastered from copies of the original
master tapes under the supervision of Tom Gabriel Fischer, and the
demos now represent Hellhammer exactly as the band sounded when
recording these songs in June and December of 1983. Drawing from a
wealth of previously unknown historical material and artwork as well as
hundreds of unreleased Hellhammer photos from 1982 to 1984, "Demon
Entrails" will also feature all lyrics and essays detailing the
individual demo recording sessions.
"Demon Entrails" will be released as an opulent oversized double CD and
as a gatefold triple vinyl album. Both versions will feature a lavish
booklet and a poster. There will also be a third, bare-bones low-price
CD version, designed to cater to markets which will not carry the
standard CD due to its irregular size.
The release is scheduled for February 2008, through Prowling Death Records/Century Media.

Cynic: American Death/Jazz Fusion Legends to Release New Album01/19/08bravewords.comAmerican iconic death metal band CYNIC's MySpace has been updated with the following press release:

Quality technical metal connoisseurs and open-minded music-lovers in
general will be delighted to hear that Florida's legendary Cynic have
returned to creative power after a successful European reunion tour in
the summer of 2007 and will soon be recording a new album, their second
after 1993's genre-shattering Focus debut.

Cynic founding members Paul Masvidal (Guitars / Vocals) and Sean
Reinert (Drums), who both gained reputation and praise while performing
alongside Chuck Schuldiner and Death in the recording and touring
line-up for the milestone album "Human", are currently in Sanford,
Florida, working on the mix for three new demo tracks together with
producer Jason Suecof at his own Audiohammer Studios. The three new
tracks are entitled 'Integral Birth', 'Evolutionary Sleeper' and
'Adam's Murmur' but Masvidal and Reinert have already written a full
album's worth of new material and the band will use the demo to begin
talks with record companies about a 2008 release.

Masvidal comments, "We're amazed that we're here again, and that is a
testament to the unpredictable beauty of the creative process. We
received so much inspiration during last summer's reunion tour that a
flood of new material has since poured out of us. There must be a
default metal root in us from childhood that insists on being watered
and loved, so we're just trying to keep up with ourselves — the Cynic
sirens are screaming inside and won't let up! Our policy has always
been about surrendering to what feels most organic and staying in the
flow. To put it mildly, this last year has been a creatively abundant
and productive period. We're intoxicated about now and the future."

More news on Cynic's recording and touring plans will soon be announced, and a new website will soon be launched at their official website.

Mikael
Åkerfeldt returns to brutal death metal band BLOODBATH

1/30/08

http://bloodbath.b iz/

So the time has
come for Bloodbath to once again poison the scene with a contagious
doze of über brutal death metal. An old acquaitance in this zombified
bloodline has once again re-visited his old home. We can now announce
that the vocalist on the new mini-cd is none other than Mikael
Åkerfeldt courtesy of Opeth.

Second deathster to
join the elite is Mr Per 'Sodomizer' Eriksson (ex-21 Lucifers,
ex-Genocrush Ferox). Sodomizer's brutal death metal songwriting
approach as well as guitar shredding is a highly welcomed element in
the legacy of Bloodbath.

OPETH announces album title + track list2/8/08www.bravewords.com< ;/a> "Watershed" is truly one of those special records that cycles through a variety of moods, speeds and textures, complete with lots of subtleties and nuances of sound. Because of its expansive scope, "Watershed" is destined to land the album atop many "Best Of" lists. Album opener "Coil" is a gorgeous acoustic number, featuring local folk vocalist Nathalie Lorichs, while "Heir Apparent" will knock listeners unconscious with its blunt force metal. Always one to defy the rules, Opeth posits sung vocals over artillery-like blast beats on "The Lotus Eater", cementing their reputation as innovators and redefiners.
"Watershed" combines elements of modern metal, prog rock, free jazz and hints of European folk music, all of which come together for a seamless, unique collection of songs that will leave an indelible mark upon all who listen. (as well as non-luminary Barney The Dinosaur), was Deicide, coming in
at number one with the song "Fuck Your God" from 2004's "Scars Of The
Crucifix".

When word of this info first got to Deicide drummer, Steve Asheim, the
only thing he could really say was "It's cool. If we're upto military
standards of audio abuse, it makes me feel like Deicide's doing our
part for the troops." Of course this moment is not the only history
that Asheim has with the armed forces. "My dad was a marine, as were my
uncle and grandfather;" says the Deicide skinsman. "I didn't follow in
their footsteps since I was so busy with the band thing, but I'm glad I
was eventually able to contribute somehow."

Some of the tactical circumstances where prisoners may have heard "Fuck
Your God" include sleep deprivation and interrogation disorientation.
While some may see this information as a shock, other readers of the
source article have taken a slightly different view of the situation.
Commented one reader of the source article, "Honestly, the barney theme
song is more disturbing than Deicide's "Fuck Your God"."
