Who is THE real bassist of Metallica? I mean, who you prefer? And who was the classic bassist, the best of Metallica?
In my opinion the classic bassist was Cliff, the best. But if Rob joined the band at the good moment, he would be the best then...

I enjoy Robs Bass work, he is a very talented Bassist but i beilive that Cliff was destinded to be with Metallica.
In my opioin he not only fit Metallica beter but was and is the greatest Bassist to ever live. May his soul rest in peaice R.I.P. |

Cliff Burton was the best bassist ever. Jason wasn´t that good. I liked his backing vocals, but his playing was poor. We´ll see on the next album, if Rob sucks or not. |

cliff owned...... but i guess its kinda fate that he won that card game on that night.... and died.... but yeh he was ment to be with metallica, jason was pretty gd... his backing vocals wer good aswell.... rob is alright.... but st anger sucked so i cant judge him yet.... but then again i saw metallica at wemberly stadium last yr n he was awsom wne they did orion |

I Think Jason put the METAL in METALLICA though, But cliff and jason are still my fav bassist ever....sucks jason left, but they werent making music and I ALMOSt,just almost dont blame em |
