My dad bought himself a SNES on my 1st birthday, because he didn't think I'd actually play it and he needed the excuse for the wifey :p:.
6 months later, he thinks its cute to give me the controler and try to play....
He didn't think it was so cute when I was beating him, 2 months later xD.

Yeah, it's kind of sad.

I grew up with the SNES (Mario,Legend of Zelda,Donkey Kong and all the classics). Later I had a Gameboy and bought with my first own money the Pokémon- Blue Edition ! Than came the 64 and after some years the GC. I had a perfect childhood
These days I don't have the time to play so often but sometimes I still play some James Bond on my Gamecube

I play my GC games on the Wii - using the GC handset still.

Yeah, I have one of them 3rd part handsets with "turbo" buttons - that allow you to constantly press a button by flicking a switch - so in a car game you can just steer and let the handset accelerate - but that one has broken jotsticks.
My official ones are pretty safe though - no known problems with them.

I wish there would a N64 reissue - maybe even have updated graphics (or at least textures) on some games.

A reissue would be amazing! I wouldn't mind if they didn't upgrade the graphics or textures though because the gameplay on those games was heaven enough.

Agreed. In fact, the graphics are still acceptable. Super Mario 64 still looks like a brand new game!

N64 owned. I got one like 12 years old, and it still works, but you gotta blow in the Cartridge and The slot sometimes. Anyone else realize that Nintendo controllers Joysticks break or force you to go forward?

I always have to blow in the cartridges too! Sometimes into the N64 cartridge slot as well sometimes.
Nothing beats the N64. Nothing.

Agreed. I looked for mine yesterday but couldn't find it. That angers me.
As for the broken joystick, that only happens with wear and tear. You have to take real good care of the controllers.

I have a PS3 + Wii.
IMO, get a PS3, as it has more games available - so you won't get bored too fast, THEN get a Wii - as it has less games, but greater novelty.

The XBox 360 isn't worth it. I've known people who've had to change it ten times in a year. Plus, a LOT of XBox exclusives are being ported to the PS3 - sometimes even brand new sequels.

So, PS3 then Wii.

Got a Gamecube here... not sure if I should 'upgrade for the Wii so I could still play GC games or go for an Xbox/PS3... of course, this is the Nintendo group so your opinion may be a little biased...

Mine won't be. :)

I haven't had much experience with a Wii, but I've played Xbox 360s extensively, and from what I understand, the Wii doesn't have too many promising games in the near future. Sure, it's more costly, but I think the 360 would be more worthwhile at the moment, although if some more good games come out for the Wii (I'm looking at you, Animal Crossing), my opinion may alter.

Is that for the Wii? I don't have one of those yet. :(

But Metroid Prime for the GC was one of the most fucking sick as shit kickass games I ever had the pleasure to play. :)

Yeah, crystal was great!

I remember being so sad when I lost my copy.

I know who that feels, mine's broken - the cartridge was dead I think.
I've probably lost it now anyway.
But it's probably the best pokemon game around - one you can still happily play.
I remember, when I was younger, walking around a town pretending to be an NPC - and I pretended I was a gym leader - the gold old days that was.

I didn't know the cartridge could die...

I just loved in crystal how the graphics were so... cool! In that ice cave with all of the Delibirds (Fuck yeah!), it just seemed to pop out of the Gameboy. It was definitely the best of the Poke' games.
