I found this on www.randy-rhoads.com. He used GHS strings in America and Picatto strings in England. That's what it said. I found this on www.randy-rhoads.com. He used GHS strings in America and Picatto strings in England. That's what it said.

RRW Whitey

Hey guys, I read way back when before his death that sometimes he used Banjo strings .... really light botton end and heavy top but never confirmed it to get diffrent sounds he was searching for.. I know for a fact the Hendrix messed around with them (E-B-G 7-7 1/2 -8 guage) off and on and used to drop them down at least 1 full step to pull off bends in excess of 2 1/2 steps on the E-B-G. especially working the King Box between the 3rd & 5th fret.
