Idea from the pit, thought it'd be interesting to hear what you guys' claims to fame are, no matter how obscure 
My claim to fame. Grasping at straws I must admit. 
I wrote on Dec 31st, 1969 at 7:00pm :
I have a distant uncle/cousin/some thing-or-other who was an
Irish-American businessman who aided Irish Nationalist movements during
the early 20th Century:

He seems to have been a bit chummy with both the Kaiser and Nazi governments of Germany, which I ain't that pleased about 
Ironically me and my grandad, also a McGarrity (but Scottish), met Martin McGuinness in Dublin airport one time.

Oh btw Annie I saw a programe on Captain Morgan on the History Channel last week...pretty cool stuff, though he kinda sold out to the Brits later in life and "settled down"...who would give up the scurvy and rampant homoeroticism of a pirate ship for a nice quiet stately home?!?! |
