Billy Corgan used to be awesome. He was the Alt rock king, an almost unstoppable force in the 90s. He brought the Pumpkins back a few years ago with just Jimmy. I (and a lot of you) were fine with this, as long as he has Jimmy, it should still be good, were just glad to have new music from the SP. It was decent at best (imo) and the tour was just alright. We were still fine with this, at least they were still active. After this on the Gish anniversery tour Billy refused to play hardly anything off of Gish, and only a handful of SD/Mellon Collie songs. Then Billy annouced the pumpkins would become a singles band. This was the beginning of the end. Shortly after this, Jimmy left the band, with Billy deciding to carry on. Personally, im ok with this, but now he thinks its reasonable for him to charge 40 dollars for 12 weeks of studio updates on the band. He's the only band member left!! Why do we care? I don't think any band should charge for updates, but 40 dollars for 12 weeks with a minimum of only 5 updates? How big has his ego gotten? Does he think people will actually pay for this? If he does, its just proof that he has now completely lost it. There are many bands that give lots of updates, but do it free. The closest thing we get to a free SP update, is reading Billy's LiveJournal wall-of-text entrys which just prove even more how insane he has become.
If you still don't believe he needs mental help, he lives with Courtney Love. Nuff said.
If you really care about Billy, love the Smashing Pumpkins, and want him to get better so he can write good music again, sign our petition. Maybe if we get enough signatures, he will realize how much he has been alienating us fans. If not, maybe the courts will deem him insane and put him in an asylum until they think hes okay. Either way, if you care about Billy and want him to stop being a douche, join our group.
