Hardest Sax Solo In Jazz...

carrotcake

Can anybody name some (for bari... alto or tenor would be fine though)?

My middle school jazz band has music that's way too simple, and the solo I played for my concert was too easy. So, can anybody name a couple jazz songs with hard sax solos?

i think its the other way around but i havent heard too much of parker i think its cause coltrane has more speed and uses more syncopation and complex rythms i think its the other way around but i havent heard too much of parker i think its cause coltrane has more speed and uses more syncopation and complex rythms

You might be right, actually. I think superficially Coltrane's more complicated, but it's more of a stylistic thing than it is the actual content of what he's playing. Most of this is all subjective though, so it's hard to say. You might be right, actually. Liberation

Tell me about it xD

I played the solo in Soul Bossa Nova, and it was waaay too easy, so I changed it up a bit, adding a few "bends" on some of the notes, adding some accents, and other such things...I think it sounds better my way.

hehe when i played my version of the frankenstien sax solo in middle school people thought it was too hard for them, but even though i changed it it was still easy :/ parkers solos are more about feelin the music and coltrane's more about impressing i guess. whichever you were lookin for, they are the best hehe when i played my version of the frankenstien sax solo in middle school people thought it was too hard for them, but even though i changed it it was still easy :/ parkers solos are more about feelin the music and coltrane's more about impressing i guess. whichever you were lookin for, they are the best

</span> ;Liberation, I got the solo for Soul Bossa Nova in our jazz band. It was ridiculously easy... but you can make it sound difficult if you bend and mix up the articulations.

And I'm personally a Coltrane guy myself...
