Best of the big 4?

Page/Rhoads	Out of the big 4 (Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax, Metallica), would you say Slayer is the best? I would. Then Megadeth. I don't listen to Anthrax and I hate Metallica. Hydra26	Depends on my mood. I listened to a lot of all 4 growing up. To me, slayer is probably the angriest music out of the 4. I dunno if I'd say any one of them is hands down better in every situation than the rest. Metallica, I really haven't listened to much since And Justice For All. Megadeth cna be a little much sometimes. Great music, but some of the songs go on and on positively forever and are too busy sounding. Anthrax always ahd awesome timing. Thinking baout this some more, what I cna say is tone and beatwise, Slayer and Mateallica have a good variety of tonal texture. My general impressions of Antrhax and Megadeth is they both have great stuff but are more geared to speed and complexity which can sound a little flat when played with the wrong tones. 6stringlad	I agree that all big 4 bands were better in the 80s. Except for Megadeth. Never liked them or Dave Mustaine. They are the thrash kings, and therefore should technically be everybody's favourite. atlasguitar	I like all of them for different reasons, except for Megadeth. Dave is an asshole and didn't really go anywhere with his music, at least not far. Although there was a few good Megadeth songs I think the only band that stayed true to their roots and didn't fade with crappy music was Slayer.
