You know the main fucking problem with S+L is that there's such a difference between Poetry and Lyrics. I always overlook the newbies writing their first lyrics because they're all crap and frankly I can't be bothered. Plus, I have no idea what makes a good song. They can say what they like and give their 8/10's or whatever but theres most definatley an upper class of poets and a lower class of lyricists and very few people bridge te gap. Seperate the two and S+L will move a lot easier. |
this is not true,
both are different yes, but to seperate them just seems pointless when they are so similar, and i disagree, i think that plenty of people have bridged the gap. The whole thing should be about a place where people have a place to express themselves with writing, breaking it up into a hierarchy would just ruin that.

I always get song ideas at gigs or walking home from school. Obviously, I can't write them down, so I get pissed off if I forget by the time I'm home. Still, I've started using the drafts function on my phone.
Anyway, I don't think I really use S&L often enough to join this group...
