paesano wrote on Jul 17th, 2009 10:08amHey, I joined this group because I'm trying to get info on becoming an Audio Engineer. I've looked at a couple different schools in my area, Mediatech and Recording Connection and they both look good, tuition is not a problem but I'm curious as to how much I'd make to start and what things I can do to make myself more marketable as an Engineer. quote |

Tatakai! wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 5:41pmHello. Good group.
I'm starting sound engineering at school and I have been looking into it for a career for some time now. I'm hoping that once I finish school to go to Uni to study it. However, I know it's a really hard thing to get into so my question is would I be better to just have it as a hobby or to try get into it? What are my chances of actually getting anywhere?
I don't want to spend two years(?) at uni only to have to get a job which I don't really want to do. My guitar teacher at school told me his uncle couldn't get into it and ended up just having it as a hobby in his house.
Any advice would be great quote |

If you're interested i'll make you a mod too...! quote |
Metal-X wrote on Sep 8th, 2007 1:25amI'll be more than happy to answer any questions that anyone has, it'll help me get stay in practice for my recording classes in college. Also, I'm glad there is an FAQ. I got tired of answering the same question over and over again. quote |
af_the_fragile wrote on Aug 19th, 2007 10:53pmActually i'll make a FAQ thread.
So you all can post in there all the questions you think that are asked frequently.
That way we'll have a list of all the FAQ's.
If you can answer the question, you can post the possible answers with the question too.
Once we feel we've covered all the basic questions, i'll organize it, compile all the answers and make it into one big list of FAQ's. quote |
af_the_fragile wrote on Aug 19th, 2007 10:49pmYup.. i see that a lot too..
People keep coming up with the same questions, i can't be bothered answering them over and over again..
it'ld be good if you guys can come up with some FAQ's and then me or someone elz can make a list of all of them and answer em.
One question i repeatedly see is the "how do you set up a home recording studio?" one. quote |
take_it_t wrote on Aug 19th, 2007 9:26pmPerhaps a good idea might be to set up a FAQ, or find some way to rule out a lot of the repeated basic questions, I seem to find that I'm constantly answering the same questions in the main R & R forum to the point that I just couldn't be bothered to answer the same things anymore. quote |
