SumFX wrote on Aug 24th, 2009 7:56pmYay! a group for Line 6 Spider users! i have the Spider III it rocks! especially the Metal Channel, i have no idea why people say they are crap. Its Probably cuz they lick Slayers (or some other Marshall users) butt, just ignorant people really. alot of Marshalls tones are very limited. quote |
patbuck2 wrote on Aug 12th, 2009 1:16amI've got a spider iii 75w and I don't fucking care what the people on the forums say about it. I love it and I wouldn't trade it for anything. I might eventually get a spider i just to see what they sound like... If I can find one. But anyway, I suggest not jumping on the spider hate bandwagon and actually trying them out with an optimistic aproach. That's what I did and I don't regret spending my money on the amp at all. quote |
Sakrimo wrote on May 27th, 2009 4:59pmI know what you mean, mine started out as a second hand so it already had some abuse before it got into my hands.. however, the spider 3's sounded completely different when i got a play on them, and I havn't really tried the valve ones yet (i've focused more on my singing now rather than guitar work) quote |
R/\D wrote on May 26th, 2009 9:29amI've had a Spider 2 combo for about 3 years as one of my amps, its the biggest model in the series, and I loved it like a child. It had such heavy low ends and such crisp treble, and I could easily dial up whatever sound I wanted pretty much without resorting to any pedal boards. Recently however I was forced to start using it for rehearsal and due to me just using it for recording and general 'quiet' practice, it never really got cranked that loud. Let me say, while I still love it dearly, the sound of it is absolute CRAP at high volumes. It loses all its clarity and sounds more digital than 10110100010100. Has anyone else had this experience? quote |

The only way I would agree with the "Spiders suck!" comments
is if your using one while competing with a drummer.
It sounds like if I turn it up to like 5,
but if I keep it at like 2, and then run a MT-2 through it, it doesnt sound THAT bad.
(although I doubt many would agree with this post) |
I kinda agree. I run my RG through a MT-2, a cab model in my digitech ex-7, and a boos eq pedal (just for leads) into the spider III, and i have a pretty good tone for the equiptment used

ShiryuX wrote on Jul 17th, 2008 12:03amGetting a Spider III 15W, I don't care if everyone says "get microcube", I'm fine with this as a good practice amp with alot of effects, and doesn't need batteries nor have a ridiculously small size (I don't mind, but seriously using that as startout amp looks stupid imo =/). quote |
