SRV Signature Stratocaster

Tom S.

Have any of you guys played the Fender SRV Sig. model? I realise it's not meant to be a totally accurate replication of his #1, but I spent about an hour on one the other day, and it quickly became my favourite Strat ever.

The big fat D neck is amazing (in my opinion anyway, I have big hands), and the pickups do that hot texas tone he had excellently.

Opinions?

I jammed with it a while back, my old teacher/good friend owns one and I was quite impressed. However, he assured me the thing was in tune (we didnt have a tuner near by) so when we were jamming, just 2 guitars reading out of a fake book, it sounded like shit. I questioned the tuning but never did tune it as I was too lazy, and later realized i was about 1/4 step out. Once I tuned it, it played so nice. Yeah, I played one a few years back.
I love the neck and fretboard, and the tone is so amazing.

My friend has his signature strat and he let me play it while I was over at his house. Plays beautifully! Wish I had one of my own. My friend has his signature strat and he let me play it while I was over at his house. Plays beautifully! Wish I had one of my own.
