slide blues

zman@home

Tuned my guitar down to open D tuning today [D-A-D-F#-A-D] and picked up a stainless steel makeshift slide and played a few old blues numbers. Id forgotton how much fun and depth there is to playing slide well. It didn't take me too long to remember sum old tricks and man it was great!

If anyone wants advice on slide playing or wants to offer sum tips, here's the place for it...:wavey:

first i'd need to know what yr tuned to, but if yr in an open tuning, a good exercise is the intro to little red rooster. the following numbers refer to frets;<br />
5-3-0-12 5-3-0-12

Right now I'm not in any special tuning, just a half a step down. But, I was thinking of tuning to open E a little later and maybe learning some Allman Brothers :)
