Led by bassist, songwriter and vocalist Phil Lynott, Thin lizzy conquered the hard rock world with well known tunes like The Boys Are Back in Town, The Cowboy song and Whiskey in The Jar. Thin lizzy are still played regularly on the hard rock radio stations.
In the main Lineup, Thin lizzy was known for their unique double guitar sound by Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson and Punching bass and unique vocals by bassist Phillip Lynott. All this built on top of the Brian Downey solid drum beats.
Thin lizzy's wild ride started in 1969 and became on of the big league players through the 70's. Sadly, the ride ended in 1983. The sad death of frontman Phillip Lynott followed in 1986 due to drug abuse.
The band was later reformated by former guitarist John sykes (1982-1983) in 1996 and later in 2004 to present.
