How does this group still exist?!

Long story short, Vindicator did a rad album, got leaked, split up for a while because of it. Have two kids now. Joined Hellbastard, surprisingly. Played Obscene Extreme and Hammerfest, which was a drunken set of shenanigans. Verm'sstill a sweetheart, though he's a busy lad now so we barely make love anymore.

...o hai mark

New to the group. Nice list of essential thrash albums

Seems that many cannot escape UG's grasp of death and, y'know... venture outside

Any of yous still alive out there?? Was looking through UG and its become a strange place these days. Hard to believe Ive been here for over nine years now, Verm and Posty you lads must be here as long too?

I have a life now sadly.

I have previously lamented this fact.

I might go check out the metal forum... Hard to believe I haven;t been around here for what, 2-3 years now and it's still the same old faces.

Yeah, about that long. Fucking hell.

I miss the good ol times, too. What you said a year ago still echoes strong...

It seemed like such a simple time, and it's forever gone.
Gay.

I miss you lot.

Proposition: We buy an island and resurrect the 80s there, but in a good way, not a shit way. We make money by growing weed and arms trafficking.

All in favour?

It died out a looooooooooooooong time ago, chief. Verm and I check it once in a while, but we're too busy to resurrect it.

The Brotherhood is dying out. This is uncool.

I was more on about the fuckwads who frequent the unsigned scene in the UK, but you're right to a degree

I'm pretty sure that a lot of people acknowledge that the fad is gone. But the thing is that bands like Vektor already have left their legacy and have the chance to evolve and keep going musically (if they are up for the challenge of staying fresh), because they actually put out some music, unlike a lot of bands that were essentially focused on putting out thrash cause that was the thing to do at the time. The fact that they had a good bulk of their classic songs already on a 2004 demo goes to show that they weren't just another dime-a-dozen thrash band writing the same shit over and over.

I've kinda joined the sludge/doom metal side... I will always love my thrash music and brethren though.
This pretty much, though add in stoner rock, black metal and crust.

Thrash has gone down the shitter due to quantity over quality unfortunately. Every cunt and their dog jumped on the trhash revival bandwagon and overdid it so much that nobody cares anymore - and the worst part is that a lot of bands and 'fans' (I use that term loosely) don't even acknowledge the fact that nobody really cares about thrash anymore. That said, I've always been a thrash fan and always will be - once the truth starts sinking through the thick skulls of mouthbreathing neckbearded riff-stealing bandwagon-jumping talentless unoriginal fucking monogloids, then we'll see who the real fans are. I'm betting that there'll literally be a small handful left who won't jump on the next fad and stick to their guns. True colours and all that.

This said, I still put on thrash metal

You know this place HAS been here like, five years.

That's longer than the supposed "thrash revival" ever had life in it. We've done pretty well.

But sadly time marches on and most of us are now (at least pretending to be) adults, and as such have responsibilities besides getting drunk, high and shitposting on a thrash forum. I miss being 17 and having nothing to care about in the world besides my next bottle of Jack Daniels and Skeletonwitch bringing out a new album

Still find it utterly ridiculous to wonder round some of the really early threads and look at what a cunt I used to be. I mean, I still am, just a different breed of cunt.

In it's peak, this place was fucking brilliant. It's had a good run, man.

I haven't managed to shake off the pointless time wasting on the web as well way you guys have. Well, maybe it's due... Some day I'll do as you Harris. I'll replace it with practice. Some day... *clenches fist with hope*
