FUCK YEAH! When I tabbed the song, I couldn't get over how fucking killer it is.

That and the mid part at 2:54 in The Conjuring are some of the bestest Dave has ever done. Peace Sells is definitely Megadeth's most kickass effort which makes it hard to say if Rust In Peace is actually any better.

Totally agree. It's a great album with a unique atmosphere, but those songs... just no.

Also, I think Peace Sells is a bit similar in the sense that it has a few weak links like the I Ain't Superstitious cover and the title track. Ok, the title track is fine, but very over-hyped.

Predictable in every single way.

Also, Motorhead aren't a thrash band. One of the genre's biggest influences, without debate - but they're not thrash. I'd hardly call Chaos A.D a thrash album either, much to the contradiction of my n00bish 16 year old self.

"Phobophobia" - Vio-lence
"Jack the Ripper" - Tyrant's Reign
"Possessed by Evil Hell" - Terrorist (even though the Intro sounds like a slayer rip-off)
"Strike of the Beast" - Exodus

"Bestial Invasion" - Destruction
and of Course "Take No Prisoners" by MEGADETH
"to Hell's Servants" - Flagellator <~~ Onslaught of Disgusting Riffs

"Inherited Hell" - Nuclear Assault
"Temple of Sin" - Nocturnal
"Hydrophobia - Demolition Hammer
".44 Caliber Brain Surgery" - Demolition Hammer

"Maggot Master" - Nocturnal Breed
This right here.

I mean it's kinda a shame that there's only like two riffs in the whole song, but the change between them with the half-time drumming is fucking genius.

Side-point- A lot of blackthrash is surprisingly melodic. Discuss.

BlackThrash

I've notice that also, Can't really say why...
my guess its product of mix the sub-genres, sort of like a chemical reaction.

Abomination94

Kreator - Pleasure to Kill /Agents of Brutality /Terrible Certainty/Flag of Hate
Destruction - Bestial Invasion / Thrash Attack / Sign of Fear
Sarcofago - I.N.R.I / The Black Vomit
Nifelheim - Infernal Flame of Destruction
Exodus - Almost all the riffs on Bonded by Blood
Megadeth - Killing Is My Business / Mechanix / Holy Wars
Nuclear Assault - F# (Wake Up) / Bass riff in Critical Mass
Onslaught - Let There Be Death
Slayer - Raining Blood
Demolition Hammer - Infectious Hospital Waste / .44 Caliber Brain Surgery Sodom - Deathlike Silence / Outbreak of Evil (simple yet effective)
Testament - Almost all riffs on The Legacy
Skeletonwitch - Baptized In Flames / Crushed Beyond Dust / This Horrifying Force
Vio-Lence - All riffs on Eternal Nightmare are badass
Artillery - Khomaniac
Vindicator - The Crucified Priest
Toxik - Heart Attack
Cruel Force - Deathstrike
Metallica - Ride The Lightning / Jump in the Fire / Master of Puppets

There's tons of thrash riffs I love, I'm getting sick of trying to remeber them all.

On Melody in Black/Thrash: I noticed that too. Skeletonwitch being an obvious example, Nifelheim's album "Envoy of Lucifier" is also very melodic. Nocturnal Breed as well, "Wicked, Vicious and Violent" is catchy as hell.
